Chantelle Beagley

Honours Student

Following on from previous work by other members of the group, the focus of Chantelle’s honours project is to examine additional loci/genes involved in flowering time adaptation in the common bean. Chantelle will additionally examine the genetic architecture of loci/genes involved in other distinct measurable phenotypic traits. Chantelle’s project involves QTL mapping in an F2 population using a new genetic map generated with markers obtained by a DArT-sequencing method. This will provide an indication of the number, relative contribution and interactions of chromosomal region (loci) that govern flowering time and other measured diverse developmental traits.
