Andy Rubenach

PhD Student

Andy is focused on understanding the circadian clock and photoperiod control of flowering time. During his PhD he is using two legume species (pea and Lotus japonicus) in parallel to help untangle the complexity of gene regulation pathways. Even with advances in technology such as RNAseq, he sees putting a few pieces of the puzzle together is a long but rewarding process.

So as not to be overwhelmed, Andy enjoys collecting fossils and minerals and spending time with family and friends.

The Green Fuse research group acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal peoples as the first inhabitants of lutruwita (Tasmania) and the traditional custodians of the lands on which we conduct our research. We pay our respects to elders past and present.
