About us

The Green Fuse group has its roots in deep and fertile compost accumulated over more than fifty years of plant physiology and genetics research at the University of Tasmania.

We are working to understand the control of flowering time and related aspects of plant development.

We’re also interested in how humans have used plants for food and changed them in the process.

Our main focus is on legumes - fascinating, nutritious, and generally good-looking, although not always the easiest to work with.

The Green Fuse research group acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal peoples as the first inhabitants of lutruwita (Tasmania) and the traditional custodians of the lands on which we conduct our research. We pay our respects to elders past and present.
